14/10/2019 - Temporary Bridge Closure – Ironpot - Boughyard Creek Bridge on Ironpot Road

Council routinely undertakes inspections of all major drainage structures within our region. On a recent inspection of the Boughyard Creek Bridge on Ironpot Road, Ironpot, a number of defects were identified that could affect the integrity of the structure. Council, for the safety of the community and users, advises that due to the potential of ongoing deterioration, the bridge will be closed from Monday, 14 October 2019 until further notice.

Bouchard Creek Bridge replacement works, funded through Council’s 2019-20 capital renewal programme, is scheduled to commence in November 2019, with a duration of works estimated at approximately three (3) months, weather permitting.

Council anticipates there will be minimal impact on the area has given traffic will now be able to access the available side-track. Motorists are requested to travel with extreme care, to drive to the prevailing road conditions and to adhere to signage.  Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks you for your patience whilst works are in progress.
