Kingaroy Transformation Project
South Burnett Regional Council has developed the Kingaroy Transformation Project, inspired by our vision to build a strong and vibrant region. In continued consultation with our residents and businesses we have designed a plan that will provide direct benefits, not just to Kingaroy, but the entire South Burnett region. The much-needed and long awaited regeneration for this vital regional hub will build a strong identity for regional businesses, residents and provide an environment to inspire tourists to stop and stay longer.
As part of our vision to provide growth opportunities for the area the project’s design and development is focused on enabling economic, environmental, social and cultural sustainability. The project will build ‘smart country’ capacity into all infrastructure upgrades enabling businesses and residents to make the most of future technological advances and the Internet of Things.
The Kingaroy Transformation Project offers a once in a generation opportunity to transform Kingaroy’s town centre and enable it to recognise the linkages to our Region. The design will incorporate images and aspects of the 17 towns and townships from across our region and includes contemporary recognition of the First Nations People of our region.
The project will deliver a functional and modern CBD for all members of our community and enable inclusiveness and accessibility for many who currently have limitations due to the many deficiencies.
Once complete the transformation project will connect the CBD and allow it to function more effectively activating our community, regenerating our economy and providing opportunities for the future. This project offers Kingaroy and the greater South Burnett Region an opportunity to emerge as a modern, vibrant regional community.
