Community Luncheon a Success!

Mayor Keith Campbell held the annual Mayor’s Community Christmas Luncheon on Friday 8 December at the Kingaroy Town Hall.  The lunch which attracted over 150 people raised more than $5,600, which is slightly more than last year.  All proceeds will be donated to South Burnett families in need this Christmas by way of food vouchers which local charity organisations will distribute. 

This year the guest speaker was ABC presenter and producer, Belinda Sanders, with live music provided by the MISfITZ and the Kingaroy State High School Choir led by Mrs Susan Dowideit-Reiger.  Heather Foord also attended the luncheon as a special guest.  A surprise addition to this year’s event was Mayor Keith Campbell, together with local identity, Rhonda Trivett performing a duet of Christmas songs, which was well received by all who attended.

The food for the two (2) course meal was generously supplied by the Kingaroy SUPA IGA and beautifully prepared and served by the Queensland Country Women’s Association (QCWA).

“This luncheon would not be able to be held each year without the very generous support of the South Burnett Community, our Sponsors and the support from local businesses” said Mayor Keith Campbell.   “It was heart-warming knowing there will be families who will benefit and be able to put food on the table this Christmas.”
