BlazeAid are here to Help

Following on from the Boxing Day severe weather event, Cr Kathy Duff on behalf of Council has contacted BlazeAid to offer assistance to local residents in the South Burnett Region.

BlazeAid are a volunteer based organisation that works with families and individuals in rural Australia after natural disasters such as fires, floods or severe storms.  Working alongside the rural families, BlazeAid volunteers help to rebuild fences and other structures that have been damaged or destroyed.  Their camp will be based at the Murgon PCYC.

"BlazeAid will be set up on Friday 12 January and be on the ground ready to commence on Saturday, 13 January" said Cr Duff. “If you or someone you know has been affected by the severe weather event on Boxing Day and require assistance, please contact BlazeAid directly on 0455 190 151 to register.”

Cr Duff has put the call out for help with meal preparations or donating non-perishable food items, if you would like to assist, please contact Ms Joan Adams on 0474 105 919.
