Council will be cutting 70 acres of irrigated oats in the next few days, which will be dried, baled and sold by public tender. It is estimated that the crop may yield 200 bales or 105 tonnes (1.5t/acre). A detailed tender will be released once baling and stacking is complete, which is anticipated to be around 23 October 2019. The revenue raised from the sale of the fodder will be used to offset the operational costs of the treatment plant. Stay tuned for further information.
