Notification of Interruption to Water Supply – Markwell Street Kingaroy

Back

As a part of Council’s routine maintenance programs and its commitment to ensure the long term sustainability and efficiency of our water infrastructure.

Council will be shutting off the water supply for required maintenance.

This maintenance is to be carried out on Wednesday 21 February 2024. It is expected that the water supply will be isolated at approximately 7:00am and due to be reinstated at approximately 3:00pm, unexpected circumstances may alter these times.

Residents are advised to take appropriate action such as turning off hot water system and storing enough water for this period. Toilets may be satisfactorily flushed by quickly discharging a 10-litre bucket of water in the pedestal.

What to do?

Try running a garden tap closest to the water meter for around 2 - 5 minutes and then see if the water is clear when run into a glass. If the water does not clear up within a reasonable amount of time, then we suggest that you contact Council on 4189 9100 for assistance.

Discoloured or cloudy water is usually because of a change within your water pipes. An increase in water flow rate or swift change in direction of water flow in the pipes can stir up sediment. The sediment makes the water look discoloured but is harmless and safe to drink.

Council apologises for any inconvenience that this work may cause and thank you in advance for your patience.

Please direct any enquiries to Council’s Water and Wastewater team by phone 4189 9100 or email info@sbrc.qld.gov.au.
