Discoloured water – Murgon water supply scheme

Back

South Burnett Regional Council advises that the water in Barambah Creek at Murgon Weir currently has a very high turbidity due to localised flash flooding.

The Murgon water supply scheme draws water from Murgon Weir which may result in some residents experiencing discoloured water.

Intermittent discolouring may last for the next two days, with the possibility of being impacted for a longer period if further wet weather and flooding events occur.

Disinfection continues to ensure water remains safe for residents. The impact of this interruption means the treatment process of the water is not currently operating at full capacity. Residents are urged to reduce water consumption where possible.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates your patience during this time.
