South Burnett Aquatic Centres upgrades to bathrooms and upcoming closure

Back

South Burnett Regional Council has commissioned contractors to commence upgrades to the bathroom facilities at South Burnett Aquatic Centre located on Henry Street in Nanango.

Renovations include upgrades to the existing disabled toilets and a new disabled toilet, a new first aid room and upgrades to the existing amenities.

Construction works are estimated to begin early December 2021 with an anticipated completion date of mid March 2022.

The South Burnett Aquatic Centre will be closed to the public from Monday 6 December 2021 to allow for construction.

During the closure period Council encourages members of the public to utilise the Kingaroy Aquatic Centre on Alford Street, Blackbutt Swimming Pool and Murgon Jubilee Swimming Pool.

For details on operating hours and services that each pool offers, visit Council’s website https://www.southburnett.qld.gov.au/facilities-recreation/aquatic-centres

South Burnett residents should be aware that throughout this time there may be general worksite noises and vehicle movements to and around the jobsite. Council and the construction team will be mindful that surrounding businesses will be trading as per normal.

Funding for this program was received as part of the South Burnett Regional Council’s Capital Works programme.

Council appreciates the patience and cooperation from the community throughout this time.
