Nanango State School – Pioneer Park Pedestrian Bridge Nanango Replacement to Commence

Back

South Burnett Regional Council is pleased to advise the replacement of the Nanango State School and Pioneer Park Pedestrian Bridge in Nanango will commence in mid-May 2021.

The works are anticipated to be completed by mid-June 2021, weather and external constraints permitting.

The project will include the demolition and removal of the existing timber structure, which has reached the end of its service life. This structure will be replaced with a new 2.5m wide by 12m long steel pedestrian bridge. Images below show the old pedestrian bridge and proposed plan for the new steel pedestrian bridge.

Works are funded through the Queensland Government’s School Transport Infrastructure Program (STIP) and Council’s 2020/21 Capital Upgrade Works programme.

To provide a safe working environment for Council’s approved contractor and users, the work area will be temporarily barricaded off to all pedestrian access for the duration of the works. There will be no access through the work site. Images below show the site location.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the patience of businesses and the community while works are in progress.

For further information contact Council’s Works team on 1300 789 279, 4189 9100 or email info@sbrc.qld.gov.au.
