New Ag Conference inspires young producers
Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation (BIEDO) in conjunction with Burnett Mary Regional Group (BMRG) are hoping to inspire producers of all ages and sectors,
at its inaugural Growing Ags Conference.
Held in Gayndah on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 May 2021, Growing Ags aims to bring local businesses, industry leaders,
guest presenters and inspirational speakers for two-days of learning, connection, and growth.
BIEDO CEO Kristy Frahm said Growing Ags intended to bring together and celebrate the next generation of the agriculture
industry.
“These two days are designed for farmers, young and young at heart, and anyone interested in agriculture, to give them an
opportunity to invest in themselves now and for the future,” Ms Frahm said.
The event line up includes workshops, a farm tour of Green Patch Ranch with Holistic Management expert Jason Virtue,
social dinner with entertainment by former Landline TV producer Pete Lewis and guest John Elliot, plus a swag of leading
industry speakers.
Growing Ags attendees will gain insight into a range of topics and best management principles from biological mentor and
experienced Intergenerational Succession planner, John Moor (GrowMoor Biological), latest drone technology and
agricultural applications by Meg Kummerow (Fly the Farm) and understand Cultural Burn Techniques shared by the Bunya
Mountains Murri Rangers.
Founder of Australian Sustainable Food Company and soil carbon sequestration expert, Natalie Williams, will share how
farmers can create wealth for themselves in the carbon trading realm.
New additions to the event will be announced leading up to the event.

Organisers hope the pilot event will be well supported by the local agriculture industry, so it can become a regular fixture
on the Burnett Inland event calendar.
“We know there are some very passionate, progressive producers in the region, and we hope to support them as they grow
their ag ventures, by offering the Growing Ags event format. It is also a great opportunity to take a much-needed break offfarm,
and connect with other like-minded industry contacts right here within our region,” Ms Frahm said.
Growing Ags 2021 will be held at the Gayndah Town Hall on Thursday 13 & Friday 14 May, with a social dinner package also
available.
