Arts Community invited to free Professional Development Workshops in February
A new workshop for artists has been announced for the South Burnett region, scheduled to visit two venues in February.
The professional development workshop program attracted grant funding support from South Burnett Regional Council’s Regional Arts Development Fund, enabling both sessions to be fully subsidised and free for participants to attend.
Gympie-based arts consultant and grant writing specialist Olivia Everitt will facilitate the Level Up: Designing Art Programs for Children and Youth workshop in two locations:
- Thursday 22 February 12-3pm (Blackbutt Memorial Hall)
- Thursday 29 February 11am-2pm (Wondai Regional Art Gallery – Workshop Space)
The workshop is an opportunity to learn the skills, planning techniques and protocols relevant to developing engaging art programs for children and youth audiences (0-18 years).
Mrs. Everitt said, “I’m excited to return to the South Burnett next month, visiting both Blackbutt and Wondai to ensure participants from across the region have an opportunity to attend.”
“Many artists and groups are looking for meaningful ways to interact with young people and foster a love of the arts in the next generation. From festivals to art workshops and performing arts programs for children, I have over 12 years’ experience in coordinating art programs for children and youth. This is an opportunity to share tried and tested strategies with participants.”
The workshop is recommended for artists, arts organisations, festivals, event managers, arts workers, creative businesses, and community development professionals seeking to develop art programs for young people aged 0-18. No prior experience is necessary.
Registration is now open at www.oliviaeveritt.com/workshops or call 0432 556 830 to secure a place at your preferred workshop location.
