Mayor's Charity Ball

Keep this date free in your calendar, Saturday 8 June 2019… for the second charity ball that Mayor Campbell will be officially hosting in this term of office.

Mayor Campbell's first charity ball in 2017 raised over $55,000 for the South Burnett Community Hospital Foundation and he is now seeking your support and involvement to repeat this terrific community effort again in 2019.

Drum roll… the charity to receive the 2019 charity ball proceeds is the Red Earth Community Foundation South Burnett.

Many of you will recall that Red Earth Community Foundation (RECF) began in February 2013, and one of the first ways it helped the South Burnett help itself was to coordinate and deliver the funds raised through the “2013 Mayor’s Red Earth South Burnett Flood Appeal”. Over $90,000 was raised locally and distributed to property owners, local businesses and community organisations, helping our region get back on its feet after those damaging floods.

Red Earth exists to invest in our local people and to act as a catalyst for the South Burnett to thrive into the future. Local people have already been contributing their ideas, talents and financial support as well as benefiting from the programs and initiatives hosted by Red Earth Community Foundation.

Mayor Campbell is particularly proud of the success of RECF’s South Burnett Community Leadership Program, a one -week leadership program held in the Bunya Mountains each year. Local businesses have been sending their staff, community organisations have been sending their members, and individuals who want to be part of, and contribute to, an even greater South Burnett, are signing up a year ahead to attend. In just 5 years, over 100 South Burnett people have completed this program that is now widely recognised by Australian philanthropic leaders as ground breaking and unique in its collaborative design and impact.

This why Red Earth Community Foundation South Burnett will be the recipient of the 2019 Kingaroy Supa IGA Mayor's Charity Ball.

Mayor Campbell is committed to helping all of the South Burnett build on their strengths and for their families and their communities to enjoy an even better South Burnett for many years to come. Through organisations like Red Earth Community Foundation and many others, we can all reach further than we once might have imagined.

Creating success in our region is worth celebrating and will encourage others to do the same.

The program for the evening will run like previous years. Beginning with the Peak Services Pre Dinner Drinks in the Forecourt with entertainment by MisFitz, a sit-down dinner featuring some of the South Burnett’s finest food, entertainment by a sell-out comedian Joel Ozborn and a 6 piece band Franky Smart, a short fundraising auction and plenty of time for dancing and socialising.
