South Burnett Regional Council will mark Australia Day on Sunday 26 January 2024, with a special citizenship ceremony.

Mayor Kathy Duff said the citizenship ceremony will be one of the key events in Australia Day 2025 celebrations, as 17 local residents will join thousands of migrants across the country to become Australia’s newest citizens.

“This is an exciting moment for Australia’s newest citizens, and a time in their life that many will cherish for years to come, we wish our newest citizens nothing but success,” said Mayor Duff.

The ceremony will take place at the Kingaroy Scout Den at 9am. Mayor Kathy Duff will preside over the ceremony.
