Disaster Management

The Disaster Management Act 2003 gives Council primary responsibility for coordination and management of disaster and emergency events in the South Burnett Region, with support from the State.

When disasters loom or a major emergency happens, Queenslanders will be alerted by the sound of the Standard Emergency Warning Signal (SEWS).

Recovery

Human and Social and Economic sub-groups of the South Burnett Local Disaster Recovery Group support those communities impacted by a severe weather event.
