South Burnett Regional Council will mark Australia Day on Monday 26 January 2026, with a special citizenship ceremony.

The ceremony will take place at the Kingaroy Memorial Park at 9am. Mayor Kathy Duff will preside over the ceremony.

Mayor Kathy Duff said the citizenship ceremony will be one of the key events that form part of our Australia Day 2026 celebrations. Thirteen local residents will join thousands of migrants across the country to become Australian citizens.

“This is an exciting moment for Australia’s newest citizens, and a time in their life that many will cherish and remember for years to come. I encourage everyone to participate in local Australia Day activities and use this opportunity to reflect on what it means to be an Australian citizen with our shared values, our national history and our multicultural nation,” said Mayor Kathy Duff.
