Following the severe weather event that occurred on 11 October 2018, Council has activated the Local Disaster Management Group and Local Disaster Recovery Group working closely with agencies across facilitating a coordinated approach in response and recovery activities to support those communities impacted by the severe weather event.
The resilience of our communities is encouraging, with a large percentage of agencies reporting people getting on with the clean-up and repairs independently; however the need for ongoing support for impacted residents was stressed.
