The South Burnett Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) has met this afternoon, Wednesday 23 September 2026, and remains at Stand Up and is continuing to provide support to the Queensland Fire Department concerning the current fire situation in the Teelah area.
A Community meeting for residents will be held at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall at 5.30pm today, Wednesday 23 September 2026. Queensland Fire Department personnel will be available at this meeting if you have any questions or need an update on the Teelah bushfire.
The bushfire is continuing to burn near Stretton Drive and this is expected to continue over the coming days.
The LDMG urge the community to remain calm, stay safe and, if required to leave your property, please go to family and friends in the first instance.
The Blackbutt Memorial Hall is open as a place of refuge and will remain open into the night. Residents are invited to attend the hall if you require assistance or further information. The Blackbutt Showgrounds is available for those residents that require a place for their animals.
