The South Burnett Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) has met this morning, Thursday
24 September 2026, and has now stood down with the current fire warnings for the Teelah area being reduced to return with caution. The danger from the fire burning near Stretton Drive has reduced. The fire is now under control and will continue to burn over the coming days. The LDMG will continue to provide support to the Queensland Fire Department were required.

The Blackbutt Memorial Hall which was opened as a place of refuge has now closed.

“I would like to sincerely thank everyone involved, it has been a massive effort with a lot of participation from different agencies. No lives have been lost and no significant structural damages have occurred, which is a great outcome. Ongoing assessments will continue over the next few days. I would like to particularly thank the Queensland Fire Department for leading the disaster management and the rural firies who worked around the clock to keep everyone safe,” said Mayor Kathy Duff.
