South Burnett Regional Council will be conducting tree pruning over two (2) weeks in the Wondai and Murgon areas, commencing on Tuesday 17 June and is expected to be complete on Friday
27 June 2025.

Council’s Parks staff will be pruning trees in open space parks and street trees, there will be temporary piles of debris in safe locations that will be collected throughout the weeks. All parks and open spaces will remain open during this time.

Tree pruning is an important part of a long-term maintenance strategy to keep shrubs and trees healthy and thriving, to ensure their lifespan. This promotes safety, enhances the overall aesthetic value of trees in open spaces and improves airflow and sunlight, encouraging healthy new growth and preventing potential hazards in parks throughout the South Burnett.

The work being carried out consists of:

  • Removing dead wood
  • Removal of diseased and damaged branches
  • Canopy reduction
  • Clearance of branches that are obstructing paths, signs and Council infrastructure
  • Crown lifting, removing lower branches to increase its height and improve tree health

Council apologises in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause and appreciates your patience while works are in progress.
