South Burnett Regional Council is pleased to advise the public the new South Burnett Animal Management Centre (AMC) has opened its doors.
Council would like to thank the RSPCA for their valuable service over many years as they discontinue their operation of the facilities, with Council now continuing the ongoing operation of this essential community facility.
Mayor Kathy Duff said, “I can reassure the community that we have experienced and knowledgeable staff who will ensure the successful operation of the AMC.”
The AMC is currently undergoing rebranding and much needed renovations to revitalise the animal care facility.
Council will over the trial 6-month period, be looking to expand on the great service provided by the RSPCA, incorporating free microchip days, community outreach, education and safety programs around dogs and responsible pet awareness.
The South Burnett Animal Management Centre will be open to the public, Monday to Friday 10.00am to 5.00pm and will be closed on public holidays and weekends. These hours may change in the future depending on the needs of the community.
