South Burnett Regional Council advises the community that the Blackbutt Skate Park will be temporarily closed from Monday 18 May 2026. This closure is necessary to facilitate the installation of new lights under the skate park roof, enhancing the safety and usability of the park.
Safety fencing will be in place for the duration of works, which should take approximately one week to complete, with anticipation for reopening on Monday 25 May 2026. Once completed, the new lighting will provide a safer and more enjoyable space for skaters and visitors alike.
The lighting installation project is a collaborative effort, jointly funded by the South Burnett Regional Council and the Queensland Government, which is part of the Secure Communities Partnership Program – Round 1.
Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks you for your patience whilst works are in progress.
