The South Burnett Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) met this morning and has moved to Stand Down with the direct flooding emergency having now passed.  Council along with other government agencies will continue their response to the community and infrastructure damage.

The South Burnett Local Disaster Recovery Group (LDRG) has moved to Stand Up.

Mayor Duff said “Council would like to thank emergency services and the LDMG for their response to this weather event. Everyone worked as a team and kept our community safe”.

The rain event has caused significant damage and disruption to Council’s and the state road network in the South Burnett. Council and Transport and Main Roads (TMR) are currently inspecting the network for priority repairs which will take some time. Some roads may need to remain closed until repairs are undertaken.

Please continue to follow Council’s Disaster Dashboard for all road closures and impacts.

Remember, always drive to the conditions, and if it's flooded, forget it.

Council urges the public to report flooded and damaged roads to Council by calling 4189 9100.

Council thanks the community for their understanding and patience as the coming days and weeks will likely present significant damage to the network that will take days and weeks to inspect and repair.
