South Burnett Regional Council has recently partnered with the Wooroolin Lions Club to carry out repairs to the Wooroolin wetlands bird hide.

Due to several weather events and age the handrails on the hide deteriorated and had to be closed to the public. Council and members from the Wooroolin Lions Club removed the old, damaged handrails, replacing with hardier timber handrails.

The Wooroolin wetlands is home to a variety of birdlife and the hide is the perfect spot to watch and take photos.

Cr Ros Heit said “The bird hide is a wonderful facility for viewing the amazing and diverse birdlife on the Wooroolin Wetlands. A great partnership between the Council and Wooroolin Lions to repair the bird hide.  Thanks to both.”

Council would like to thank the Wooroolin Lions Club for their assistance in this project.
