This year, there is a great opportunity for budding and established artisans and historians across the region to apply for funding to create or provide arts, culture and heritage projects to the South Burnett community.  Council is releasing the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) opportunity for grant funding up to $15,000.  This year we are encouraging projects that take arts, culture and heritage to the people in the community, broadening exposure to those that would not normally be active, to get involved.

If you have a great idea for a project in mind, please contact Council, as it may be eligible for this great opportunity.  You are encouraged to read the SBRC RADF guidelines that provides details on the criteria for eligible projects and individuals or groups eligible to apply.

Cr Danita Potter said, “This region has a very long history of promoting the arts, culture and heritage.  We have some amazing museums, art galleries, cultural events and heritage facilities for visitors and the community to enjoy.  This RADF Grant funding is a great way to help take the arts, culture and heritage to the people.  We are looking for enthusiastic groups or people to get out and get people doing something they wouldn’t normally do.”

Minister for Education and the Arts John-Paul Langbroek said the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) has an impressive track record of supporting local arts and cultural programs across Queensland communities.

“The Crisafulli Government’s multi-year RADF investment provides greater funding certainty for 59 regional councils, streamlined program management and red tape reduction, while boosting the state’s vibrant arts and cultural scene,” Minister Langbroek said.

“Each year, RADF programs reach more than one million people across Queensland, securing local arts experiences and cultural tourism opportunities in regional areas, as well as supporting local artists in the lead up to Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”

“For 34 years, Arts Queensland has partnered with regional councils to co-invest in local arts initiatives that generate jobs, community engagement and help boost local economies. The Crisafulli Government will continue to support these vital collaborations.”

This grant is a competitive process, and applications will be evaluated by the criteria in the objectives of the grant program.

The grant funding round will be released on Thursday 1 May and close Saturday 31 May 2025.

Applicants are encouraged to read the guidelines and to contact Council’s RADF Liaison Officer before submitting an application.  For further information, please phone Council on 4189 9100 or email communities@sbrc.qld.gov.au.
