South Burnett Regional Council is pleased to announce Railway Park in Proston, has now reopened.
The decision to temporarily close the park was made after broken glass was discovered in the playground's softfall, posing a safety risk to visitors. To ensure the safety of all park-goers, the contaminated softfall was entirely removed and has been replaced with new softfall chips ensuring that the playground is safe for children and families.
The Council's Parks team apologises for any inconvenience caused by the delay in reopening. This was due to shortages and availability challenges of the softfall chips in Queensland. The team appreciates the community’s patience and understanding during this period.
