South Burnett Regional Council advises of upcoming intersection upgrades at Cairns Street and Appin Street West Nanango, as a part of Council’s ongoing commitment to improving the local road network. Construction work is expected to start on Monday 21 September 2026, weather and machinery permitting.
The intersection will temporarily be closed from Monday 21 September to Sunday 27 September 2026 and a detour will be in place for road users.
To provide a safe work environment, the work will be controlled with signage and/or with traffic controllers as required. Motorists are requested to travel with extra care, to drive to the prevailing conditions, and to adhere to signage.
Works are funded by the South Burnett Regional Council and the Australian Government under the Blackspot program.
Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks you for your patience whilst works are in progress.
