The Queensland Government provided $226,184 to South Burnett Regional Council to construct amenities to support active recreation in Murgon,

to enable Queenslanders to participate in sport and recreation activities.

The skate park opened back in 2013 and has been the centre of weekend and school holiday activities for children over the years. Council is excited to be able to install a new all-inclusive amenity building, which will bring longevity to the park for years to come.

The first stage of the project has commenced and will involve the relocation of the existing picnic shelter to provide a suitable location for the amenity building.

Second stage proposed to commence in mid-February will be the construction of the amenities building itself.

Small parts of the park may be temporarily closed during these works to maintain the safety of park users and the community. Council apologises for any inconvenience during this period.

South Burnett Regional Council would like to acknowledge the funding allocation by the Department of Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games are assisting to deliver.
