Mayor's Community Christmas Luncheon a Success!

The Mayor’s Community Christmas Luncheon held on Friday 5 December 2025 in the Kingaroy Town Hall has raised over $6800, with all proceeds being donated to South Burnett families in need by way of IGA food vouchers which local charity organisations will distribute.
Mayor Kathy Duff was sincerely thankful for the generous support of the community, volunteers, local businesses and all our sponsors who contributed to the success of the Mayor's Community Christmas Luncheon for 2025. “Once again the South Burnett’s strong sense of community shone through to bring a bit of extra joy to those experiencing challenging times this year”, said Mayor Duff.
This year the guest speaker was Sonia McMahon along with some members of Rockin our Abilities, the music group for people with disabilities that Sonia founded in 2019. The group performed a medley of songs. Other music was performed by Cr Jane Erkens and Friends of the Shed Nanango.
The food for the two-course meal was generously supplied by the Peries IGA Kingaroy and Sunpork, and beautifully prepared and served by the Queensland Country Women’s Association (QCWA).
