South Burnett Regional Council’s Local Disaster Recovery Group (LDRG) met on Tuesday 29 September 2026 and the LDRG Sub Groups (Human & Social / Economic, Environmental and Roads & Transport) met on Wednesday 30 September 2026 to discuss community impacts and recovery needs following the Teelah Bushfire. The LDRG is responsible for the coordinated process of recovery to support disaster affected communities.
During the LDRG meeting, an overview and briefing was provided from Queensland Fire Department (QFD) and an outcome of the Rapid Damage Assessments carried out by QFD. Thankfully, there was no major structural damage to any residential dwellings and the only structural impacts recorded was to sheds and a caravan. Based on this information, the LDRG will not stand up, however, will assess possible impacts from the community over the coming weeks. Please contact Council if you require support.
The LDRG will hold a Recovery Hub with multiple agencies attending, to provide support to our community. Some of the agencies will provide personal support, psychological first aid, referrals to appropriate specialist services and emergency relief where needed.
