Installation of New Shade Sails at Ringsfield House
Published on 17 April 2026
South Burnett Regional Council advises of the upcoming installation of new shade sails at the Coach House, situated within the picturesque grounds of Ringsfield House. This enhancement project is designed to provide a shaded retreat, adding to the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the area.
The installation will be conducted in two stages to ensure minimal disruption and a seamless process.
The first stage will begin on Monday 20 April and is expected to be completed by Wednesday
22 April 2026. During this phase, initial preparations and installations will be carried out. The site will be fenced off for safety and to streamline the work process. Fencing will be removed on the final day of this stage to facilitate further work.
The second stage is scheduled to start on Tuesday 26 May and is expected to be completed by Thursday 28 May 2026. This phase focuses on the final installation and necessary adjustments to ensure the shade sails are securely in place. The work is scheduled to take two days.
To ensure the safety of both visitors and the installation team, Ringsfield House will be closed to the public during the specified dates of each stage. This closure will allow the installation team to work efficiently and without interruptions, ensuring the highest quality of work.
Upon completion, the new shade sails will provide a comfortable, shaded area for visitors, enhancing the overall experience at the Coach House. This project underscores the Council's commitment to improving local amenities for the community's enjoyment.
Cr Jane Erkens said “The installation of additional shade sails at Ringsfield House is a very welcome improvement to the gardens. These shade sails will provide much-needed protection for performers during the afternoon and enhance the comfort of everyone using the space.
The gardens are well utilised by many local groups and are beautifully maintained by our Council garden team. Their ongoing care helps ensure this special community space remains attractive and functional.
I was pleased to support this improvement through Works for Queensland funding, with Ringsfield House being one of the areas I chose to prioritise for funding support. I am keen to see even more events held in the gardens and to see this valued venue continue to grow as a place for community activity and celebration.”
