South Burnett Regional Council advises that work will be commencing in early February at First Settlers’ Park Benarkin, to install a new flying fox as an addition to the existing play equipment. As part of Council’s commitment to safety, woodchip softfall will also be installed.
Cr Linda Little said, “I would like to acknowledge the residents of Benarkin for their commitment and advocacy for this activity in the playground area. They have waited a long time for this piece of equipment for the youth of Benarkin and Blackbutt. I know that the youth are eagerly awaiting the completion of this Flying Fox and I look forward to seeing our youth, and visitors to First Settlers’ Park enjoying this new activity.”
Funding for this project is part of Council’s Capital Works Program. It is expected that works will be completed by Easter, weather permitting. During this time, we ask the Community to please respect fenced off construction areas.
Council apologises for any inconvenience these upgrades may cause and thanks the community for their understanding.
