South Burnett Regional Council has an amazing opportunity for artists to create a public art mural on a privately owned building wall at the entrance of the Kingaroy to Kilkivan Rail Trail, located in Kingaroy.
Council is seeking to engage an artist, or artists collective, to create and install a public art mural in keeping with Council's preferred design concept.
The South Burnett Regional Council’s Kingaroy to Kilkivan Rail Trail - Art and Heritage Plan is a tailored plan for development of art, and the preservation of heritage, within the rail trail corridor within the Kingaroy to Murgon stretch of the Kingaroy to Kilkivan Rail Trail. This mural site has been identified as a significant opportunity to enhance art on the rail trail due to its key location and size.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for a talented artist to help bring the South Burnett Rail Trail to life through a vibrant public artwork. This is a chance to brighten up the Rail Trail, showcase local talent and create something that residents and visitors can enjoy for years to come.
The South Burnett Rail Trail Users Association has proudly supported this project from the very beginning when the idea of introducing art along the rail trail was first discussed,” said Cr Danita Potter.
