South Burnett Australia Day Ambassador Announced

South Burnett Regional Council is pleased to announce our 2026 Australia Day Ambassador, Carmel Crouch AM, will join the South Burnett community to celebrate Australia Day by attending the Australia Day Award Presentation on Sunday 25 January 2026.

Carmel Crouch founded STEPS more than 30 years ago as a small organisation trying to provide young people with a disability with opportunities for workplace participation and independence. Since then, STEPS has grown into a large organisation which helps many individuals all over Australia strive for a brighter future.

As Managing Director, Carmel facilitates STEPS Group of Companies strategic planning and major decision-making processes. Her in-depth knowledge of not-for-profit corporate governance, coupled with service delivery expertise and determination of social equality, has been instrumental in the ongoing growth and success of the organisation.

Carmel Crouch AM is proud to be an Australia Day Ambassador and looks forward to joining the celebrations in the South Burnett at the following event:

Australia Day Awards Presentation

When: Sunday 25 January 2026 at 3:00pm* Where: Proston Town Hall

*The Awards Ceremony will commence at 3.00pm and an afternoon tea will be provided for guests at the conclusion of the ceremony inside the hall.
