UPDATE - Lamb Street, Murgon - CBD Footpath, Kerb and Channel Replacement

The replacement of Murgon’s CBD footpath along Lamb Street (between Krebs and Gore Streets) continues with demolition and reconstruction occurring among various sections.

South Burnett Regional Council is pleased to advise that the replacement of Murgon’s CBD footpath along Lamb Street (between Krebs and Gore Streets), funded through the Queensland Government’s 2019-21 Works for Queensland program (W4Q R3) and South Burnett Regional Council, continues with demolition and reconstruction occurring among various sections. Detailed planning has preceded works in order to ensure all businesses can remain operational during the construction period.

The majority of works have been scheduled to be delivered at night between 6pm and 6am, with additional supporting tasks being undertaken during standard working hours as required.

Details of activities progressed as at Sunday 15 March and planned for the week commencing Sunday 22 March are outlined below:

Week commencing Sunday 15 March 2020

Section One - Project contractors have been scheduled to complete the remaining concrete pours at the beginning of the week. The completion of these works will result in the removal of all fencing and equipment from this area once concrete has cured. The remaining works area of section one is highlighted and labelled below in Yellow.

Section Two - Completion of the concrete preparation & Telstra infrastructure replacement is scheduled to occur in the beginning of the week opposite the Pizza shop. This will allow for a full width concrete pour on Wednesday, all fencing from this area will be removed once the concrete has cured. Section Two is highlighted and labelled below in Red.

Section Three - Project contractors will commence demolition adjacent to The Royal Hotel commencing 6pm Monday night. The boundary of these works are represented by the 25 meters highlighted in Purple below and will join with the existing bottle shop drive thru. Kerb and channel replacement has been scheduled to occur on Thursday morning allowing for concrete pours in the following week.

Week commencing Sunday 22 March 2020

Section Two – This stage expected to be practically complete.

Section Three - Completion of the concreting preparation and Telstra infrastructure replacement is scheduled to occur at the beginning of the week. This preparation will allow for footpath replacement on the Wednesday and Thursday, weather permitting.

Motorists and pedestrians are requested to travel with extreme care, to drive to the prevailing road conditions and to adhere to signage. Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks you for your patience whilst works are in progress.
