Kingaroy Irrigation Farm

The recently installed pivot irrigation system at the Kingaroy Wastewater Treatment Plant is nearing completion and will be commissioned once power is connected and the ponds are cleaned out – both due in June 2018. The farm has been programmed for a burn off in the coming weeks, once the weather conditions are suitable and permit has been issued, which will then allow the farm to be prepared for cultivation again.

Sewer Relining

The scope of work for the sewer relining project is nearing completion for inclusion in the WBBROC joint tender. This program combines work from South Burnett, Fraser Coast, Bundaberg, Gympie and North Burnett Regional Councils into a single contract and allows significant cost savings across the region. Council’s overall program including CCTV will total $2.8M in 18/19 and will lead to a vastly improved sewer network with reduced blockages and ground water infiltration.

Andy Watson – Visit to Netherlands

Andy Watson from the Treatment and Quality team has been invited to visit the Netherlands by RHDHV, the owners of the NEREDA technology, to visit other NEREDA plants for a learning and training exercise. Andy is a highly competent operator in our team and this invite further demonstrates the esteem with which he is held by other professionals. This is a significant achievement for Andy and the SBRC T&Q team.
