Community Engagement - Maintenance of Vegetation at Ros Gregor Walking Track

Back

South Burnett Regional Council Staff, Councillors and community engagement representatives will be at the Nanango Parkrun on Saturday 13 May.

Council is seeking community input relating to the maintenance of vegetation at Ros Gregor Walking Track.

The track is used extensively by the community, including Parkruns every Saturday.

A large area of vegetation was planted along the western side of the track as part of a region-wide, biodiversity and climate change project funded by a government grant, which aimed to re-connect native ecosystems and wildlife corridors that had been disrupted by civil development.

Council has become aware of some concerns relating to the vegetation and has received requests to remove the low vegetation and maintain the area as mowed parkland.

Council wishes to understand the community’s views to assist in determining how to manage and maintain this natural area in the future.

Council is encouraging feedback from the Nanango community. Residents can speak with staff and representatives face to face on Saturday or by completing a short online survey available at  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PMMDKV8

Nanango Parkrun starts at 7am each Saturday at Ros Gregor Walking Trail, Tipperary Flats, D’Aguilar Highway Nanango.
