South Burnett Regional Council has installed new tap-and-go credit/debit water standpipes in Nanango, Blackbutt and Benarkin, replacing the existing coin operated machines. Potable water (drinking quality) may be purchased at these standpipes with the cost of water remaining at $4 per Kl.

The standpipes are located at:

  • Nanango – Brisbane Road
  • Blackbutt – Bowmans Road
  • Benarkin – Scotts Street

The payment system is operated by the tap-and-go Visa or MasterCard credit/debit card system and transactions are limited to a minimum of $1 and maximum $99 per transaction.

Cr Roz Frohloff said, “The new standpipes offer customers a reliable source of potable water 24 hours a day, seven days a week as well as a convenient way to pay with tap-and-go card payments.”

The new Standpipes are now in operation. There will be a 25mm hose available but customers will need to provide their own 50mm cam lock and hose to use the larger connection.

If you have any queries regarding the new Standpipes, please contact Council's Water and Wastewater Department on 4189 9100.
