Back

On Saturday September 15, Queensland Fire & Emergency Services (QFES) staff and volunteers and emergency service agencies will be knocking on doors and setting up stalls.

On Saturday September 15, Queensland Fire & Emergency Services (QFES) staff and volunteers and emergency service agencies will be knocking on doors and setting up stalls across the South Burnett to share important safety messages.

Operation Knock Knock is a state-wide multi-agency initiative aimed at raising awareness of the importance of resilience, preparation for hazards and community connectedness.

Mayor Keith Campbell said, “This Saturday you may receive a knock on the door from emergency services to discuss the importance of being prepared in the event of an emergency. It’s important to be aware of incidents that may occur in the South Burnett and for the community to work together to be prepared.”

On Saturday approximately 460 properties will be door knocked in Wilkesdale, Benarkin, Byee, Cherbourg and East Nanango. QFES and local emergency service agencies will also be operating stalls at:

  • Kingaroy – outside QFES Office, 101 Youngman Street.
  • Blackbutt – opposite QFES Station, D’Aguilar Highway.
  • Wondai – Federation Park, Mackenzie Street.

Council’s Disaster Dashboard flyer and Be Prepared guides will be distributed during the door knocks and at the stalls.
