Be Prepared and Be Safe - Check the Council Dashboard

“If it’s flooded, forget it,” stressed South Burnett Mayor, Brett Otto, in a plea to residents to take care driving in bad weather conditions.

“We do not want to have tragedy strike our community through careless or bravado driving.”

Residents concerned about the impact of current weather conditions are encouraged to access the South Burnett Regional Council’s Disaster Dashboard on the Council website.

“All the information you need about weather warnings, road closures, flooding and power outages is available on this dashboard,” said Mayor Otto.

“If you are informed and prepared, then you will make better and safer decisions about travel, home, work, and care of family and business.

“There are also sections on road conditions, emergency news, COVID-19, Sunwater and Gordonbrook Dam and links to Qld government sites and emergency contacts.

“I would also encourage residents to follow Council on Facebook to get the latest news.”

“Being aware of your surroundings means you will be better able to help yourself and others if conditions deteriorate,” said Mayor Otto.

Residents are asked to please visit Council's Dashboard or Facebook pages.
