Summer Reading Club returns this school holidays

Back

Summer Reading Club is back at South Burnett Libraries this school holidays starting from Wednesday 1 December 2021 to Monday 31 January 2022, with the theme this year of Uncover and Discover!

This programme encourages a love of reading and continued literacy development in children and young people during the summer holidays.

Children of all ages are invited to register for the club via the Summer Reading Club website https://summerreadingclub.slq.qld.gov.au/, with the library joining in the fun by providing take home craft packs and challenge sheets to keep young ones motivated.

Councillor Danita Potter said this is an important opportunity for kids to keep up their reading skills and immerse themselves in the wonderful world of storytelling and imagination.

“Summer Reading Club gives our local children a fun project over the school holidays, with the challenges bringing them new authors and stories, a chance to rediscover old favourites and learning new ways of enjoying literature,” said Councillor Potter.

Keep an eye on the South Burnett Libraries Facebook https://www.facebook.com/southburnettlibraries and Instagram @south_burnett_libraries for challenge ideas and inspiration, with staff featuring in a series of photos taking part in the Summer Reading Club challenges!
