LDMG major road closures and localised flooding update

The South Burnett Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) advises an updated list of major roads impacted by localised flooding and damage in the South Burnett.

Council crews are working hard to ensure the impacted roads are made safe for our community.

Current closures of major roads in South Burnett as of Thursday 2 December 2021at 1.39pm are:

  • Burnett Highway, Nanango to Goomeri, Reedy Creek
  • Wondai Chinchilla Road, Wilkesdale to Mundubbera Road, Boyne
  • Proston Boondooma Road, Brigooda to Proston, Stuart River
  • Kingaroy Burrandowan Road, Magees Road to Ironpot Road, Boyne River
  • Maidenwell Bunya Mountains Road, Kingaroy Cooyar Road to the Bunya Mountains                         
  • Memerambi Gordonbrook Road, Bunya Highway to Wilsons Road                                                              
  • Kingaroy Barkers Creek Road, Wattlecamp to Burnett Highway, Barkers Creek

South Burnett Disaster Dashboard continues to operate with lists of impacted roads updated by Council and Queensland Police Service (QPS) as information is provided and as conditions change. Roads are expected to reopen tomorrow following further inspection and receding waters.

Keep up to date with all road closures, weather warnings, flood warnings and emergency news on the South Burnett Disaster Dashboard here.

QPS advises residents not drive to the prevailing road conditions, adhere to signage and do not drive or walk through floodwater. Residents should not expect to see warnings signs for every crossing due to the widespread impact of rainfall.

The public is encouraged to report all road impacts to Council on 4189 9100.
