Back

The South Burnett Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) advises the recent heavy rainfall has caused localised flooding and damage in various parts of the South Burnett

Council crews are working hard to ensure the impacted roads are made safe for our community.

  • Kingaroy Cooyar Road, Brooklands to Kingaroy, Barkers Creek
  • Wondai Chinchilla Road, Wilkesdale to Mundubbera Road, Boyne
  • Proston Boondooma Road, Brigooda to Proston, Stuart River
  • Wondai Proston Road, Bunya Highway to Mondure Road

  • Kingaroy Barkers Creek, Wattlecamp to Burnett Highway, Barkers Creek

South Burnett Disaster Dashboard continues to operate with lists of impacted roads updated by Council and Queensland Police Service (QPS) as information is provided and as conditions change. Roads are expected to reopen tomorrow following further inspection and receding waters.

Keep up to date with all road closures, weather warnings, flood warnings and emergency news on the South Burnett Disaster Dashboard http://dashboard.southburnett.qld.gov.au/.

QPS advises residents not to drive or walk through floodwater and avoid unnecessary travel. If you must travel, please drive to the prevailing road conditions, adhere to signage and do not drive through floodwater. Residents should not expect to see warnings signs for every crossing due to the widespread impact of rainfall.

The public is encouraged to continue reporting road impacts to Council on 4189 9100.

In a life threatening situation call Triple Zero 000 and for assistance with damage to property call 132 500.
