South Burnett Regional Council celebrates National Volunteer Week

Back

South Burnett Regional Council is taking part in National Volunteer Week 2021 from Monday 17 May to Sunday 23 May to acknowledge all the valued efforts of volunteers throughout our region.

This year’s theme for National Volunteer Week is Recognise. Reconnect. Reimagine. This theme is important in recognising, celebrating and thanking our volunteers, reconnecting to what is important by giving back to our South Burnett community, and reimagining how we can provide support and opportunities to our valued volunteers now and into the future.

Councillor Danita Potter said it is important we acknowledge our volunteers not just this week, but every day of the year as invaluable members of our community.

Councillor Potter said, “South Burnett volunteers offer their time, skills, knowledge and so much more to the region every day of the year out of the goodness of their hearts. This National Volunteer Week, we Recognise. Reconnect. Reimagine to say thank you to our volunteers and all they do for our region.”

“Healthcare, aged care, tourism, information, education and emergency services are just some of many industries and causes volunteers are committed to across our region. South Burnett’s heart, diversity and unique personality can be largely attributed to our volunteers and we would be a very different place without them, “ said Councillor Potter.

South Burnett Regional Council acknowledges its 77 volunteers, committing their time across Visitor Information Centres, Museums and Libraries and thanks them for their service.
