Small Business Month brings big grant opportunities

Back

Queensland is the place to be for small business, with Queensland Small Business Month seeing the launch of the Business Basics, Business Boost and Business Growth Fund grants programmes,

offering funding worth $25 Million over two years. Applications opened on Tuesday 11 May 2021.

This year’s theme for Small Business Month is ‘bounce back better’, with over 20,000 small businesses already having received help throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The South Burnett’s hundreds of small businesses across many diverse industries have the opportunity to innovate, plan and advance toward the future thanks to these new grants programmes.

South Burnett Regional Council Regional Development portfolio holder Councillor Kirstie Schumacher said now is the time for our region’s small businesses to take advantage of such promising opportunities toward regional growth and dynamic employment.

Councillor Kirstie Schumacher said, “The Business Basics, Busines Boost and Business Growth Fund programmes have come at the right time to support business innovation and leverage the development within our region.  This funding offers new opportunities and can help to fast-track their projects.”

“The South Burnett is thriving, and I encourage our local small business owners to be ambitious in making their plans a reality, and to help shape our region’s sustainable future,” said Councillor Schumacher.

The Business Basics grant programme offers funding to new and emerging businesses, Business Boost will support established small businesses and the Business Growth Fund will help evolving and fast growing small to medium sized businesses. These grants programmes are proudly supported by the Queensland Government.
