Dog Registration Pension discount now extended to all pension card holders
Please be advised that the matter of extending the pensioner discount for dog registration within the South Burnett was discussed at the December 2020 Council Meeting.
The Council decision was that it would extend the pensioner discount for de-sexed and microchipped dogs from aged pension only to all pension card holders.
All pension card holders will therefore be entitled to the discounted dog registration pension rate for de-sexed and microchipped dogs only.
This change will be effective from 1 December 2021, in line with the next dog registration period. The dog registration period runs from 1 December through to 30 November.
Please provide evidence of your pension status to any of Council’s Customer Contact Centres prior to October 2021 in order to have your records updated and ensure that your registration renewal, which should be issued around late October/early November 2021, will only be for the pensioner discount amount.
Alternatively, you may wait until you have received the registration renewal and present evidence of your pension status to any of Council’s Customer Contact Centres to have your dog registration records updated and pay the pensioner discounted rate.
