Back

The Mayor, along with Cr Roz Frohloff, Cr Danita Potter and Cr Kathy Duff met with Council’s Property Team Leader and South Burnett Aquatic Centre’s Manager last week

to discuss current works being carried out at the Centre and potential suggestions for proposed future works to support disabled, elderly and rehabilitation clients.

Council is working on refurbishing the bathrooms located within the Centre as part of the Council’s Capital Works Program for 2020/21.

Mayor Brett Otto said, “Council is willing to consider modifications and improvements to this facility to support greater utilisation, disability and accessibility improvements and enhance the experience for all patrons.”

Council has appointed a draftsman to design an additional disability changeroom within the existing facility, with Council to consider this design and discuss options for funding the proposed modifications at a future Council meeting.

Council has also purchased a new Platypus Aquatic and Wet Area wheelchair and is currently awaiting delivery.
