Council encourages community groups to support Ringsfield House

Back

The South Burnett Regional Council has been liaising with community groups in Nanango over recent months to consider options for the future of Ringsfield House.

This work has resulted in Council calling for tenders from local community groups to come forward and submit formal proposals for the iconic buildings future management.

Mayor Brett Otto said, “The continuance of Ringsfield as an important community asset is a priority of the South Burnett Regional Council in preserving it as a place that locals and visitors alike can enjoy while experiencing its beautiful open spaces, gardens and historical features.”

Council is keen to work with the Nanango community to support the ongoing sustainable management of Ringsfield as is the case with other important historical buildings across the region and invites interested community groups and organisations to tender for the management and operation of the historically significant Ringsfield House and associated grounds and buildings located in Nanango.

Mayor Otto explained, “With local organisations being so passionate and involved with the restoration and previous use of Ringsfield, it makes sense to have these groups involved with the management and operation of this historic property.”

“Ringsfield has previously been run as a destination for visitors and the local community as a showcase of historical memorabilia and items from the history of Nanango, as a function and event centre, and café, and Council is very keen to see Ringsfield preserved for historical display, tours and events,” Mayor Otto said.

Mayor Otto finished with, “Council is looking for a thoughtful and considered approach to the management and operation of this historic community asset.”

Council welcomes contact from interested local community groups. Tender documents can be downloaded from Council’s website 'Tenders’ page. Tenders are to be suitably endorsed, marked and lodged as per tender documents no later than 4:00pm Friday 20 November 2020.
