Wondai Pool Filtration Plant Upgrade & Rail Trail Closure

Back

Council will soon commence the upgrade of the Wondai Pool Filtration Plant.

The existing pool steel filter housing is at the end of its service life and to ensure the continued availability and ammenity of this popular community pool it is necessary to carry out replacement of the steel filter housing and install new fibreglass filters with new higher specification filter media. This planned work will ensure safe, reliable operation of the community pool for many years into the future.

The Filtration Plant Upgrade, funded through Council’s 2019-20 Capital Expenditure Budget is anticipated to take place during the last week in June, weather permitting.

To enable the replacement of the filter housings it is necessary to close the Kingaroy-Kilkivian Rail Trail adjacent to the Wondai Pool for one morning as detailed below.

This closure will enable the safe positioning and operation of necessary crane and transport trucks to remove the exising filter housing and position the new filter housings.
