Council’s new Customer Service Standards for water and wastewater adopted

South Burnett Regional Council Mayor Cr Brett Otto is pleased to advise that Council’s new Water and Wastewater Customer Service Standards has been adopted and is available to view online.

“In accordance with the Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008, Council is required to establish Customer Service Standards for water and wastewater services, Mayor Otto said.

“This document sets out Council’s shared rights and responsibilities, informs customers of the level of service they can expect to receive from Council, along with explaining the obligations of customers in relation to their use of the water and wastewater systems.”

Council’s Customer Service Standards provide:

  • An explanation of the services offered for drinking water, wastewater collection and treatment;
  • Information on a range of customer service processes including connections, metering, billing, managing maintenance work, complaints and dispute resolution;
  • A list of key performance indicators and targets for the level of service Council aims to deliver to customers and the environment;

Council has completed the five (5) yearly review and adopted the Water and Wastewater Customer Service Standards (April 2020) at the Council meeting held on 29 April 2020. These standards are published and available for viewing on Councils website ‘Water & Wastewater’ page
