Harmony Day

Back

A first-ever Harmony Week celebration is being held by the South Burnett Regional Council.

Residents are invited to celebrate South Burnett's cultural diversity at Harmony Day on Saturday 25 March at Kingaroy Townhall Forecourt. The event will kick-off at 10am and conclude at 2pm.

Entertainment for the day includes the Wakka Wakka dancers, performances from Solomon, Kiribati, Fijian and Samoan communities, Rockin’ Our Abilities, and South Burnett Orchestra, as well as local musician Ross Paige playing bagpipes.

Local residents are invited to participate in painting one of six wall murals that will be exhibited in the Kingaroy Forecourt as part of our collaborative effort to make the public space more inviting. Bringing people together is the goal of a community art project created by local artist Robyn Dower.

The kids will be kept busy learning aboriginal art techniques as they paint their own boomerang.

There will be plenty of food and drink to enjoy including a good old fashion Aussie BBQ.
